Midori Sour is a popular classic cocktail from the 1980s. Midori’s flavor is derived from Japanese muskmelons and the cantaloupe-like yubari fruit which are both infused into neutral grain spirits. It was first released in 1964 as Hermes Melon Liqueur. But in 1978, it was changed to “Midori,” the Japanese word for green.
It’s not overly sweet but it has a candy-like honeydew melon flavor. It gives you a perfect sweet tart. Midori is typically mixed into cocktails but you may also drink it straight. The eye-catching glowing green color comes from Midori, a Japanese melon-flavored liqueur. This drink was a big hit during the 80s and ’90s and was concocted with sour mix.
Enjoy its come-back these days. The Manila Hotel’s spin is a refreshed version of this classic drink: one sip of this and you’ll be a believer. It’s fresh, modern, surprisingly refreshing, and uniquely fruity. Our Midori Sour is available for P320 nett at The Tap Room and Pool Bar until the end of the month.
