Heart of gold Christmas Fundraiser
This year, to raised funds for our beneficiary, The Manila Hotel has launched the “Heart Of Gold’ Christmas Fundraiser where for every purchase of our Willy The Bear stuffed toy, we will donate the proceeds to the House of Refuge, a DSWD-accredited orphanage in Quezon City. The funds raised will help them have a happier Christmas celebration and provide for their needs in the orphanage. Please help us help the children.
Willy the Bear Story
World War II left Manila in ruins and The Manila Hotel severely damaged. The bombing destroyed the main building and the city seemed beyond repair. But a spark of hope came unexpectedly from the rubble — a child’s toy collection miraculously survived. In an old luggage were toys, and among them a bear named “Willy” that showed no damage at all. Willy became the symbol of hope in a time of great challenge. What better time than now to look to Willy as a symbol of strength in the face of challenges brought by the pandemic.
Willy The Bear is The Manila Hotel’s official mascot, and it is more than a gift to a child — he is the light inside us all.
